Ra vs Osiris
Pragmatic Play has been working overtime this week, releasing another exceptional title in ‘Ra vs Osiris’. A popular concept they’ve used before, the developer has moved on from Greek mythology to ancient Egypt with this one. Meanwhile, it still keeps many of the elements that made ‘Zeus vs Hades Gods of War’ hugely popular.
Played on a 5x5 grid with 15 paylines, it’s clear we’re in ancient Egypt with the design of this one. You’ll need to decide whether to play in Ra mode or Osiris mode. Ra is volatile, but Osiris is even more so. The RTP varies, with 96.53% in Ra mode and 96.54% in Osiris mode. Each mode has its own designs, including symbols.
Expanding Wilds with multipliers can appear on all reels, using the classic ‘VS’ icon. They can expand to cover the entire reel in the base game or free spins round when a win occurs, setting Ra vs Osiris in motion. They’ll battle, and a win multiplier will be awarded based on who wins. Free spins can be triggered by landing a minimum of 3 scatters, with 6 free spins and a multiplier of either 2x, 4x, or 8x (depending on the number of scatters landed).
Expanding Wilds become Walking Wilds, and if they appear, respins are granted. Wilds will then move one reel left, until they disappear from the grid. Respins will continue until no further wilds appear. If additional scatters appear of 3+, 6 free spins will be awarded again, with the minimum multiplier being increased by 1, 2, or 3 levels, up to 1,000x.

Grizzly Stampede
Another ELK Studios release this week that captured my eye was ‘Grizzly Stampede’. We’ve been transported to North America in this one, close to Canada, I’d guess. They’ve perhaps gone a little rogue with the idea, as grizzly bears don’t typically partake in a stampede like bison or buffalo do. Still, they’ve done well with this one.
Using 10-A, wolves, eagles, cougars, moose, Grizzlies, and Raging Grizzlies as symbols, there are 1,024 ways to win in this game with a 5x4 playing grid. All the creatures appear to be angry, which is perhaps why the grizzly bears have started stampedeing? Still, it’s a highly volatile slot, although the RTP can range between 87% and 96%, depending on where you play it.
Special wild symbols are available, and these will always reveal a multiplier in free spins when part of a win. In the base game, it’s less likely but can happen. If you land two Stampede symbols on the same row, you’ll activate the Stampede or Super Stampede game. All symbols between these icons (including these icons) will be converted to Grizzly symbols. A single Stampede symbol will charge the Totem pole, which is triggered randomly on any spin and releases the Grizzly Spirit, which adds Stampede symbols to the reels.
The final bonus game is a free spins game, which is triggered when 3+ scatters appear, awarding 6, 9, or 12 free spins. If more scatters appear during the bonus, more free spins are awarded. Each round has a token meter; when it is filled with golden Grizzlies, the tokens become Grizzly symbols. Collect three tokens on reels 1, 2, 4, or 5 to gain an extra spin, turn the linked high-pay symbol into a Grizzly, and expand that reel to six rows with two Grizzlies added. Collect five tokens on reel 3 to gain an extra spin, expand it to six rows with two Raging Grizzlies, and upgrade all Grizzlies to Raging Grizzlies. After reel 3 expands, Golden Grizzlies become Raging Grizzlies. Stampede features create Golden Raging Grizzlies on unexpanded reels and Raging Grizzlies on other reels.
